How to embed tweets, YouTube videos and link cards

Updated today

Embeds let readers see a post, video, or page right inside your writing, without leaving your page.

Embed a YouTube video

1.Type /you, or click + in the bottom toolbar and choose YouTube video.
2.Paste the video's link, for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=....
3.Click Embed.

The video appears as a player that readers can watch right in your post.

Embed a tweet (post on X)

1.Type /tweet, or click + and choose Tweet.
2.Paste the link to the post, for example https://x.com/username/status/....
3.Click Embed.

The full post appears in your article, with its text, images, and video.

Add a link card

A link card shows a preview of any web page: its title, a short description, and a picture. It is a nicer way to point readers to another article or site than a plain link.

1.Type /embed and choose Embed link card.
2.Paste the page's address in Target web link and click Sync. Cantabook fills in the title, description, site name, and thumbnail for you.
3.Change any of the details if you like, or add a thumbnail yourself.
4.Click Save embed card.

Good to know

Pasting a YouTube or X link straight into your post creates a normal link, not an embed. Use the steps above to embed it.
Embedded posts and videos come from YouTube and X. If the original is deleted or made private, it may stop showing in your post.
